New Pediatric Dental Patient Information Katy
First Steps, First Smiles, & Beyond
At Wellspring Pediatric Dentistry, we strive to make life easy for our young patients and their parents at each appointment, and we understand that our first impression is especially crucial. To ensure you both feel comfortable on day one, be sure to read over the helpful information below to get answers to your basic questions about our Katy pediatric dental office. Want to know about something else we haven’t covered here? Just give us a call—we’re always happy to talk to you!
Your Child’s First Dental Visit
We recommend that your child attend their first dental visit when their first tooth erupts or by their first birthday. Bringing your child to routine dental checkups and cleanings allows us to complete a comprehensive exam and provide individualized recommendations based on their needs. Dr. Mehta will take the time to go over cavity prevention, homecare instructions, personalized dental tips, nutrition counseling, and future expectations for your child’s oral health.
We understand that every child is different, and some may be apprehensive at first. We always allow parents to accompany their child throughout their appointments to help make their visits enjoyable. With this in mind, we do encourage parents to allow their children to be independent so they can develop trusting relationships with our staff and Dr. Mehta.
After enjoying our wide selection of games and toys in our waiting area, your child will be brought to the back where we’ll quickly review their medical and dental history before taking some X-rays and performing a cleaning. Then, Dr. Mehta will come introduce herself, take a little time to get to know you and your child, and do her own exam. Then, she’ll discuss her observations and put together a long-term treatment plan.
Before you checkout, your child will get a new toothbrush, pick out a prize, and place their name on the “No Cavity Club” wall if applicable.
Dental Patient Forms
Rather than juggling a clipboard, a pen, and your insurance card while also keeping an eye on your child, you can fill out our forms in the comfort of home and just bring them to the appointment. You can download them below.
